You would probably be amazed at how the simple act of writing things down on paper can completely change your life!

I myself am astonished at how reading my old journal entries can quickly remind me of the encouraging words that God has spoken to me or remind me of the steps of obedience that He wants me to take! On a bad day, reading my old writings is a quick & easy way for me to get a dose of motivation so that I can get back on track and keep pushing forward! And the same can be true for YOU!

Whatever’s going on in your life…YOU CAN WRITE ABOUT IT! You read or hear an encouraging word…write it down! God speaks a word to you or shows you a vision for your life…write it down! God lays upon your heart a goal that He wants you to reach or some assignment He wants you to complete…write it down! Having a bad day…having a good day…write it down! Need to reflect on the past or see your present progress…WRITE. IT. DOWN!

And don’t just write it down and let it sit in your journal! INTENTIONALLY go back and read what you’ve written from time to time! A big part of the transformation happens when you go back and read what you’ve written!

I hope that you will consider exploring the power of journaling. I believe you’ll be surprised at how much healing and transformation can be initiated through this simple act. And if you’d like to hear more about the journaling techniques that I use or if you’d like me to share some journal prompts to get you going, just let me know in the comments!

-Love, Growth, & Healing to you!

Sincerely

  1. Your post truly resonates with the power of journaling. Writing, reflecting, and revisiting our thoughts have a transformative impact on our lives. It’s a beautiful way to capture our journey, growth, and healing.

Your emphasis on not just writing but also intentionally revisiting what we’ve written is a powerful reminder. It’s in this review that we often find our strength, our wisdom, and our progress. It’s like conversing with our past selves, learning from our experiences, and drawing strength from our words.

I would love to hear more about your journaling techniques and any journal prompts you might have to share. Your insights could significantly help those looking to deepen our journaling practice.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences. Your words are a source of inspiration and a testament to the power of self-reflection.

    1. Thank you so much for reading and sharing your feedback Kim! I like how you said that reading our old journal entries is “like conversing with our past selves.” You hit the nail right on the head with that one!

One journaling technique that I’ve found to be so powerful is asking myself if any particular word has continuously been in my thoughts, prayers, conversations, etc. Let’s say I find that the word “stewardship” has constantly been coming up for me; I’ll then use that word as a journal prompt. I would start by looking up and write down the dictionary’s definition of stewardship. Then, I’d research and write down Bible Scriptures related to stewardship and pray/meditate to find out what God is trying to speak to me concerning this word. Lastly, I’d write down things that came up during that prayer/meditation time, and the most important final step is recording how God wants me to APPLY this word in my life. Don’t miss this final step!!!…The application part is a big component of the transformation process; we get wisdom so that we can actually WALK IT OUT!

Here are a few other reflective journal prompts:
      1. What am I struggling with the most right now? And what has God been saying to me concerning this struggle?
      2. What have I been putting off, that I know God wants me to do? Why is this thing so important & what’s the 1st step that God wants me to take?
      3. What helps me to feel God’s presence the most? And what small thing can I do each day to feel His presence in this special way?

Hope all of this is helpful! I’d love to hear how these techniques & prompts work out for you! And please share if you have a favorite technique or writing prompt of your own!

      -Peace & love to you

      1. AdriannaJ,

Thank you for sharing your thoughtful and insightful journaling techniques. Focusing on a recurring word in your thoughts and prayers is a unique approach I haven’t tried before. I appreciate your emphasis on understanding the word and applying it in our lives. It’s a powerful reminder that wisdom is not just about knowing but also about doing.

Your reflective journal prompts are thought-provoking, and I’m eager to try them out. They seem like a great way to deepen my understanding of my struggles, my relationship with God, and the steps I need to take in my spiritual journey.
