Episode 1 of “A Thousand Ways to Date ShaQuanda Tucker”

I will NOT flip every table in this restaurant over! I will NOT flip every table in this restaurant over! I will NOT flip every table in this restaurant OVERRRRR! ShaQuanda was literally screaming inside her head…it was a wonder that her head hadn’t exploded ‘cus babe, she was hot!

“You mean to tell me you brought me to this fancy restaurant, ordered up all this food and wine, and had absolutely NO intentions of paying for anything?!!!…This is how you date women, Marcus??? Really?!!!” Now ShaQuanda was screaming out loud. And everybody in the restaurant heard it and everybody was looking…and whispering…and laughing too!

Marcus, on the other hand, was cool, calm, and collected. His belly was full of steak and lobster, he was feeling a little buzz from that good ‘ole bottle of wine (that he drunk most of), and the relaxing piano music playing in the background had him feeling extra fancy.

“Quan, what made you assume that I…Marcus paused with wide eyes…would be the one to pay for tonight’s meals? Didn’t I take care of the bill the last time?”

“Why us brothas always expected to wine and dine ya’ll? Who gone wine and dine us?”

Marcus sat up a little straighter, giving his tailor-made, burgundy suit jacket a bougie-like tug; the man felt like a KING and he wanted to be treated like one.

But ShaQuanda couldn’t believe what she was hearing. And with the nasty look and attitude she was serving, you would’ve thought she had just gotten a big whiff of a deadly fart right in the middle of eating her food.

She didn’t really cuss that much but she was about to use a few choice words to let Marcus have a piece of her mind. And right as she was fixing her lips to spit straight fire at him, the waiter came over and interrupted her with the bill.

She picked up that little black book with shaky, sweaty hands and almost had a heart attack when she saw the grand total of $359.73. “AHHHHHH!” She winced as she grabbed her chest and grasped for air.

“You alright?!” Marcus jumped up from the table and rushed to comfort the panic that HE had created in her.

He was concerned. He was really, really concerned. He wanted her to calm down. He wanted her to be okay. Shoot, he even wanted to cuddle later. He just had no intentions of paying for this amazing meal they had just devoured.

“Babe, you gotta calm down now before you get yourself too excited; then you’ll have a hospital bill to pay too,” he said with the most soothing voice as he reached to console her.

“No! Don’t tell me to calm down! Marcus, do you have any idea how much this bill is?! Are you seriously not paying for this meal?!”

Marcus stepped back at this point. “No, he shook his head, I didn’t even bring my wallet.” Now that was enough to make ShaQuanda stand up, throw her chair back, and race to the bathroom like a gold medal winning track star.

“What am I gonna do Kierra?! I just spent my last $200 on a tire this morning! We going to jail…I ain’t got no money, he ain’t even got his wallet, and now we bout to get locked up ova some steak and lobster…and a grill chicken salad that I didn’t even finishhhhh!” Shaquanda was about to bust her friend’s eardrums yelling at her through the phone.

At this point, she didn’t know if she should be mad, cry, or just try to squeeze through the small bathroom window that she had just noticed above her head. But either way, she was on the edge of hyperventilating…….
